Because I was injured, I got summer vacation in November. Arctic region I like might be snowly, so I visited southern hemisphere, New Zealand. I hiked Rootburn track it's one of famous great track in NZ and Lake Marion trail. 

I had heard NZ has all climatic zone from toropical to cold zone. Increasing the elevation, I saw completely different landscape. After passing through dense forest covered ferns and mosses, I saw alpin plants and glacier. It was likely filled all attractiveness. NZ is beutiful place many hikers visits from several countries.

この年は怪我をしてしまい、長期の休みをとったのが11月。北極圏はもう雪が降っている。代わりに南半球へ行こうと向ったニュージーランド。2015年11月にニュージーランドの代表的グレートトラックの一つであるルートバーンとレイクマリオントレイルを繋いで歩いてきました。

亜熱帯から亜寒帯の全ての気候帯があるといわれるニュージーランド。山も標高を上げるにつれ見える景色が全く異なりました。うっそうとしたコケとシダの広がる樹林帯を抜けると高山植物帯に入り、さらにその上には万年雪あるいは氷河がある、全ての魅力を詰めて込んだような景色。世界中からハイカーが集まる美しい場所でした。
