I grew up contryside in Japan. In spring and fall, my parents often took me the hill behind house to pick wild edible plants. In summer and winter, they also took us to do hiking and skiing nearby mountain.

After I saw Alaskan photos printed in National Geographic at the first time, I was insipred and diceded to study about mountain landscape in university. This experiece taught me, huge scale Nature has.

I also enjoy mountain currently through several activities such as watching wildlife, picking plants, hiking&mounteering, trail running and skiing.

雪の多い田舎で育ったため、自然はとても身近な存在でした。春と秋、両親に連れられ裏山に山菜をよく採りにいきました。夏と冬は、登山やスキーをしに近くの山に連れていってくれました。大学生の頃、気に入って読んでいた「ナショナルジオグラッフィク」、初めてアラスカの写真を目にしてから、ますます自然に興味を持つようになりました。それが頭から離れず、卒業研究ではテント生活をしながら山岳地形の研究を行い、自然のスケールを感じました。現在も、山菜採り・登山・スキー・トレイルランなどを通じて全身で自然・山への興味を広げています。
