Japanese mountains has several expression because they have clearly four seasons. Each region mountains has different characters as for wildlife or vegitation, so we can find new discovery everytime, even if a hill at the back our house. When I am asked "Which mountain do you prefer?", I always answer "Mt. Tomuraushi, Hokkaido" because it has abundant wild flowers and wildlife. But the truth is.. I can't choose because any mountains are cool. I think if we wanna try alpine climbing, we should go to Northern Japanese Alps, if try hiking long distance, should go Southern Japanese Alps, if try seeing wilderness, should go Hokkaido, if wanna breath fresh air, should go volcano. Actually, I don't have much experiences, so I continue to build my impresion from now on.

日本の山は四季の変化に富んでいて、時期ごとでいろんな顔を見せてくれます。また、地域や山の地形によって、観察出来る動植物も異なり、身近な山でも毎回毎回新しい発見があります。どこの山が好きか？と聞かれた時、豊富な野生動物と一面の高山植物の思い出から格好つけて、トムラウシと答えてしまいますが、どの山も最高です。個人的には、カッコいい山登りをしたいときは北アルプスへ、山深さを堪能したいときは南アルプス、大自然を感じたいときは大雪山をはじめとした北海道、新鮮な空気を吸いたい・深い緑を観たいときは火山かなというイメージです。まだまだ全然浅い経験です。これからも深めていきたいです。
